Tom Le Mesurier, a native of southern England, spent much of his adolescence traveling to far-flung locations in Africa and the South Pacific. His eyes were opened to the magic of food when he was 5 and his family moved to Jerusalem for a year. Instead of flying, they took a month driving across Europe, camping along the way and enjoying all the culinary delights of France, Switzerland, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece and finally Israel/Palestine.
In 2009, a four-month trip to South America turned into a permanent move when he met a young journalist from Rio. He fell in love with the journalist and her city, and before long was recording his culinary and cultural discoveries on the website, Eat Rio.
Today, Tom works in Rio as a freelance food and travel writer. 2016 will see the publication of his first printed city guide "The Hunt – Rio de Janeiro." He also runs Eat Rio Food Tours, the city's premier culinary tours.
